AICM/AIXM

In this section, you will discover our main AICM/AIXM related projects. Check also our presentation on the AIXM AERO Official Website.

Towards AIXM 5.1
Issued from a joint effort of Eurocontrol and FAA, the AIXM 5.1 model, latest aeronautical model with 10 years history, including major versions like AIXM 3.3, 4.0, 4.5, 5.0, become a world-wide recognized model, and is more and more implemented in many AIS systems. Version 4.5 is the base data model for the European Aeronautical Database (EAD), and version 5.1 is used by SESAR as a basis for the AIRM (ATM Information Reference Model), part of SWIM (System-Wide Information Management).

In every implementation based on AIXM 5.1, a particular attention must be brought by developers to the following Improvements, with important technical impact: Temporality implementation in the database, the GML usage and geographical representation and standards (WFS, KML, etc), and the Metadata implementation.

With 14 years IT experience in different ATM Areas, 10 years on AIXM models and versions, and many web applications built around AIXM, Pulsar Consulting brings various IT services and Technical Expertise to answer to AIXM 5.1 complexity. Pulsar offers general services as Experts/Implementers, based on its own agile-like methodology, on result orientation, and on fixed price implementation. Not being product owner, there is no potential conflict of interest with client’s needs, and no dependency on AIS COTS or other suppliers’ technologies, which enables best choices related to client’s requests.

Pulsar Competenties
Discover below our AIXM competencies, and some Examples of applications built on top of versions 4.5, 5.0, & 5.1.

AIXM 5.1 Business Rules

  • Development of an intuitive and user-friendly Business Rules Manager Web Application.
  • Creation and building of a generic tool for extracting rules patterns and generating multiple rule instances based on a dynamic set of variables.
  • Development of a set of business rules in SBVR and Schematron for AIXM 5.1.

EAD/ESI/ENA Mapping Packages

The ENA Mapping project, within the EAD Programme, involved the development of three packages:
  • Package 1: development of a generic ‘engine’ able to transfer data, based on configuration files in XML, between an Oracle relational database and the AIXM standard format.
  • Package 2: a java converter able to map ARINC 424 files to AIXM format.
  • Package 3: a java converter able to split and merge XML documents in AIP format.

SDO/AIXM 3.3 Mapping

Realize the Mapping of the SDO AIXM XML 3.3 to Avitech SDO AICM 3.3. Currently, The ESI for INO is running over an ENA box. Now AVITECH has to implement the SDO ESI without ENA. In order to achieve this goal, AVITECH needs a mapping between AIXM 3.3 and the AICM 3.3. Physical implementation.
