FUA - Flexible Use of Airspace

Project Scope

Adaptation of the PLMS Interface (Pulsar Learning Management System) to match the needed WBT structure (Web Based Training) and look for the FUA group at EUROCONTROL.

Creation of a web administration interface with publishing capabilities, meaning being able to create and publish the content of the WBT thru Web.

The requirement was to become independent from the supplier, and empower EUROCONTROL administrators to edit the content online.

The on-line editorial work includes:

• text manipulation thru a Rich Text Editor library
• positioning on the page
• upload of graphics, illustrations, videos, animations and other Flash files
• creating new modules, topics and pages
• creating hyperlinks in the text to allow easy navigation thru the content
• glossary update
• addition of an editable library.

Application Scope

The purpose of the FUA E-learning Application is to improve the awareness about the FUA Concept through better information and training opportunities and to reach a common standard of understanding its benefits and opportunities among all its stakeholders.

The FUA Concept helps to best accommodate both civil and military airspace users requirements without discriminating anyone.

The WBT lasts 20 to 30 minutes and allows the learner to become familiar with the existing flexible structures, functional arrangements, fundamental procedures and processes of the Concept nowadays.
